Re: B& L Dynazoom question

Hi,

I'm pretty sure you have the older gray color Dynazoom. The top
elements of the condenser were screwed into the stage and a thrid
convex lens was mounted on a rack. This arrangement split the
condenser components. .

If the slider is Black it was designed for a later Black Body
Dynazoom. The slider has a place for a daylight blue filter and
another lens that helps illuminat the field of very low power
objectives, 2X - 4X range. I owned both models long ago. r.

The newer Black Body Dynazoom had the entire condenser mounted on the
rack and the slider clamped onto the bottom of the condenser..

The Dynazooms all have a well where the light exits the base. B & L
made a series of neutral density filters that were placed in the well
to adjust the intensity of the illumination. The filters were
constructed with metal films deposited betwee tow pieces of glass.

The design of the gray body Dynazoom condensers were unususal but
effective. .
