It is important to note that the Zeiss table refers to a camera which
uses a pixel jiggling interface - this means that you do NOT get 12.5
Megapixels effectively! All you are doing is shifting the CCD in
increments to increase the "so-called" pixels. Do the same with an RGB
filter and a 4Megapixel camera and the result is actually much better
spatial resolution.

Oly and Zeiss and others shift their CCD or CMOS image sensors to
increase the final resolution. fine. but this has major drawbacks in
ultimate image resolution.

Pixera uses a single CCD with a "Diractor" to shift the image onto the
sensor without moving the sensor. Big difference.

The sensor is either cooled or un-cooled but still flat to the heat
sink of the camera body. Anative 1.5M pixel camera will produce this
resolution. The 5.8M pixel camera (600-series) produce real pixels
via Dirator movement.
