I am looking for a coarse/fine focus drive - of the kind that is
mounted on a cylindrical post. I need to mount a camera on it for
vertical translation. The focus blocks that various microscope
manufacturers sell (for exampl, Meiji) either don't mount on a
cylindrical post or are not easily adaptable for mounting a camera. I
see that ebay is flooded with cheap, low-power stereo microscopes.
There must be manufacturers who supply various microscope parts to
these outfits. Anyone here can provide any contacts?
TIA.
Try your local Olympus and Nikon dealers. Both have industrial microscope
frames which are exactly what you describe. The frame mounts to a post so
there are various stands it will fit on. They won't show up on the
internet, you need to talk to a sharp sales person. Cost isn't that bad, of
course I'm talking about your money!
