I am looking for a stereo zoom microscope that I can mount my Nikon FM3a
on. Would the Konus Diamond 20-40x be a good one ? What worries me about
this one and others like it is that the camera would be hanging out over
the microscope, thus make it unsteady. Any help would be appreciated.

Bluntly, a real piece of crap. Buy a used stereo from a good dealer, used
stuff is what an amature should get. Try the Capovani Broth.

buy whole semi-conductor plants, right now they have 39 stereos for sale.
Since you want to do digital photography, get a trinocular stereo.

The phone booth shot was taken with Nishika N8000 and the print digitally captured with a digital camera, which you can see in reflection off of the print in the center of the pair. ...
