Bayer filter and image scale calculations...

Photomicrography - direct projection onto color CCD (DSLR)...
I understand the principles in matching image scale to pixel size but I
want to ensure optimum sampling in each of the R, G and B channels, not
just in the underlying (monochrome) array. How does the presence of a
Bayer filter affect the formulae for optimum image scale? Simply
multiply by sqrt(2)?
I found it a tough one to Google for...
