gentlemen,
i bought a 5 watt led (700 mA) and i wonder if i can use it as light
source
http://www.leds.de/product_info.php?info=p122_LUXEON-LXHL-LW6C--white--120lm--5-Watt.html
i have an old but still good vickers with Köhler illumination
my question is: can this led, classified as 'class 2 laser', create
damage to my eyes?
Are you sure this would be classed as a laser? LED's usually are classed
with light bulbs even if they emitt one color. Lasers work completely
differently and a 7 watt laser is kinda big.
Usually I think of LED's as tiny, frustrating light bulbs. In the future
they will be less frustrating but now... I would never look into a 7W
laser, its like looking into a loaded gun but a 7 or 70 or 700 watt light
bulb is no big deal.
Thanks,
Kevin Cunningham
