If you are interested in using ImageJ on Microsoft's upcoming Windows Vista, the following might be helpful. In order to run ImageJ 1.38f on Windows Vista Ultimate x64, you need to upgrade to JRE 1.6.0 (either 64 or 32-bit). JRE 1.5.x won't work. Besides this, ImageJ works great on the upcoming OS release. Even with ImageJ's slow FFT, a 2048x2048 completes in just under 3 seconds, which, of course, does not compare with FFTW's great FFT performance.
Cheers,
Gregor
