Awesome pics. Please do more - especially other test diatoms. They're
great reference images. Neat stuff! I'm inspired to try and reproduce
the 1.4K pics optically. Now where's that deep UV filter... ;-)

Glad you like them. Gerhard Rohringer obtained the specimen from
Klaus Kemp. There were two sets on one microscope slide, each on top
of a circular cover slip. One set was interior while the other was
exterior. They seem to be adhered to the slip via electrostatic
force. I messed up the exterior set but did it right for the posted
interior specimens.

Thickness of the middle portion with pores is about 89nm while at the
ends, the thickness is about 55nm.
