Dear all,
Thank you very much for the inputs. While googling more, I found a vendor
(Esco Products, www.escoproducts.com) providing Pyrex coverslips but the
pricing was in the same range as quartz offerings.... ;(
I was looking for something more affordable to use with glycerol immersion
lens (the idea was to match the RI everywhere from sample to lens front).
I'll certainly check about Cytop.
I'm also playing around with 2,'-Thiodiethanl for oil immersion lens,
following a report from Stefan Hell's group (Staudt, Lang, Medda, Engelhardt
and Hell. 2007. "2,2'-thiodiethanol: a new water soluble mounting medium for
high resolution optical microscopy." Microsc Res Tech. 2007 Jan;70(1):1-9.),
which looks promising. A PDF of the paper is downloadable from their web
site, if you are interested.
Thanks a lot again!
