Problem obtaining Kohler illumination in an Orthoplan

I've an Orthoplan microscope equipped with a model 100z lamp housing
holding a tungsten halogen (incandescent) lamp. Because the plano-
convex lens in the field condenser of the lamp housing has its plan
side ground to diffuse the light, I am not able to focus the images of
the filaments (virtual and real) to be coplanar with the substage
iris.

Could anyone assist with a solution? All I get are two hazy blobs of
light, one above the other, whereas one is supposed to get images of
two filaments.
