Control software for Sony DXC-390 camera

Hi there,
We have a Sony DXC-390 3CCD camera hooked up to a microscope. We also
have a Trinitron monitor and a camera adapter. Now we'd like to
connect this system to a computer and use the computer as the central
hub to take care of the system. I wonder what additional parts we
should add to make it the most convenient system to use as a result.
What I'm thinking of now is to control the camera from the camera and
save files (either photo or video) on the computer. I'm not sure
whether I also need to monitor the live feeds on the computer as well
(so we could retire the old Trinitron monitor). What software/hardware
combination would make it the most convenient? Do I need a frame
grabber card? Which software?
Thanks.
