Structures visible at given NA with light microscope

Recently I uploaded a spread*** (xls) to the files store (visible to
members) at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Microscope/ which lists
resolution by NA, and NA required for a given resolution for many
values of NA and resolution. This of itself is not original, merely
the application of three well known formulae; though as I find it
useful to have these values listed rather than work them out ad hoc
each time I decided to share the tables with others. What particularly
interests me is placing beside as many resolution values as possible
examples of features that just become visible at that resolution. I
have a sparse set of values relating to diatoms but should like to
find more examples relating to all kinds of material and across the
range of resolution achievable by the conventional light microscope.
Preliminary searches of the literature have not been helpful as people
don't tend to think in those terms. Can anyone provide me examples, or
sources, that would meet my need? I believe that such data brought
together would interest many people.
