I have had good experiences with quite a few items from Buy9.99
(Singapore); some parts were really dirty, but they cleaned up OK and
were cheap even with the shipping. Recently I bought a very nice Leitz
objective from Optim193 (Shanghai). Low price and surprisingly quick
shipping considering the distance. If the seller does not have a
strong positive feedback record, you might limit your risk by sticking
to fairly small purchases. So far, I have encountered more dishonesty
and crappy parts from sellers in the USA and Canada than from other
countries. You might look for sellers who show a lot of experience and
longetivity, but even then, eBay always has some risk. Greg
