Put away your wallet. Get over the universal parental fallacy that buying
equipment has any critical role in your child's education.
Buying exercise equipment won't make your child fit, buying a Steinway
won't make her a pianist, and buying a microscope won't make her a
microscopist.
Good luck getting your child to be a pianist without a piano. I don't
get that attitude, especially as he indicated her interest in science.
A microscope sparks many kids' interest in science, even if they are
initially indifferent.
