What could you say about the magnification range (up to 35x)?

and about the Leica EZ4, my question was mainly about optics quality,
since there's no need to worry about durability (I'd use it

The Leica EZ4 is a piece of crap. I'd urge you to find a good, used
stereo. One place to look is the Capovani Brothers site (http://www.capovani.com/dp/cat/107/63160/ilist.cfm?LCl=342&menuid=m_2...).
These are very competent microscopes at a good price. The main
advantage is that they work, the cheap Leicas don't. At all.

I'd concur with Kevin here, Leica has their strengths, low end
stereomicroscopy isn't one of them.- Hide quoted text -

Why has Leica slipped so much in quality?
