I made good experiences with high-test gasoline (octane). Clean gas
usually will not attack colors or optical parts. Zeiss recommends
mixing with a bit isopropanol. Do NOT use petroleum (lamp oil)!
Petroleum will attack the black finishing -> corrosion!
for protection and lubrication afterwars see my last post "restoring
an old zeiss", kevin gave some good hints there.
