I found it after mixing up some protein powder bought at Costco. I noticed a
whitish clump floating that didn't mix in. (I had noticed similar clumps
before) When I pressed the clump between my fingers it separated into
shimmering planar pieces like the one above so I put it under the
microscope. I'm concerned about drinking anymore of the stuff.

It likely needs EDS via SEM. Even then, it will probably be C, O, Si
and perhaps some other heavier element (Al?). Si is a typical binder.
Thus, it is not something that leaps out at the observer...at least
not this one.
