Re: Infinity spaces in Wild M5?

Assuming that the optics aren't infinity -- what would I need to do to
get the right lens system for imaging?

You either put a bare imaging device at a focal plane, or a lensed camera
on an afocal exit (eyepiece). You wouldn't necessarily need a relay lens
for the focal method if the imaging chip crops the unrelayed focal image to
your desired ratio.

Which should work as a telescope -- the binocular head+eyepieces, or
the zoom telescopes+common objective?

The binocular head with eyepieces is a telescope on an infinity design.
For example, the Zeiss OPMI 125mm head with 12.5X eyepieces is about a 6X
binocular.
