I recommand you to buy a good used microscope rather than a cheap chineese
one.
The mechanic parts of an Olympus, a Leica or a Nikon are much much robust
and you'll have a real return in investment, believe me.
Personnaly I purchased on ebay.com a Nikon trinocular SMZ800 ( not suitable
for botany or geology but for electronic repair) and I'm extremely happy
with this investment.
You can find on ebay a lot of rather cheap microscope for botany and
geology. Type microscope in the search engine of www.ebay.com or
www.ebay.co.uk
Good luck

I wonder if anyone can recommend a mircoscope for a mature beginner
and where to buy it from. I don't want to spend a lot of money but
would like a more robust one than a child's toy one. I would like to
have a bottom light on it. I am interested in botany, and geology.
Thank you
.
