gentlemen, I appreciate your recommendation to go digital, but I would like
to point out, that compared to a well done 4x5 inch micrograph, a digital
micrograph is usually inferior (just try it ). And regarding film and
processing - no problem at all here in Austria - everything readily
available!
but thanks for your reply, if I had enough money to buy a digital medium
format back, I would go for it (in parallel)

If I can disagree with you slightly, the new digital systems offer
great versatility, the ability to do one photo or going movie and the
quality is better than ever. Now for a new digital, well, its a bit
expensive. If you want some guidance on digital and its effect on
movies, look at the Red One company.

My degree is in Journalism (rd-tv-film) but digital has done away with
the degree! If film works for you, great, the cameras are cheap to
buy and if you can get film and processing, even better. There is
always one last hold out and thats not a bad thing to be.

A question - can someone tell me what I would need to add a MC-63(a) on
top
of the PhotomicIII? What intermediate tube, what optics would be
required?
Or would you have a better idea to take 4x5 inch micrographs on the
PmicIII?
Thanks

Why would you fool around with these items? I dumped MC-63 bodies and
MC-100 controllers since there was no interest in film.

Go digital.
