Hi Charles,
You might not see at a first glance:
With chinese or taiwanese stereos colours are often not correct.
Images often appear more fuzzy.
parfocality...
You will recognize most of them only when you have two stereos side by
side.
There may be better ones and worse, but "better" ist the enemy of
"good".
I want to raise a new point: I mean, do you want to see scratches on
your coins? Or entire coins?
In the first case it might be sufficient to buy a single eyepiece from
a standard microscope.
hold it upside down right before your eye and then have a close look
at the coin.
We use this method to identify dirt and scratches on our optical
parts. Maybe this mono-lens is sufficient by far for most insect- and
coin-collectors. Because a good stereo IS expensive. And doesn't fit
in your pockets.
