It's difficult to tell..., but no, I don't think it looks 60 degrees

Apart from the 18.5mm flange inside the eyepiece for the graticule,
there is smaller flange in the bottom with an approximately 16mm
diameter. This is nearer to the expected 14mm, but again, when you
look through the eyepiece, it is definitely the 18.5mm flange that is
in focus.

It is odd that Leica calls this a f.n.14 eyepiece, when there is no
measurable flange smaller than 16mm...

It appears the conclusion to my initial question is, that I can't
predict how for example a 12mm graticule will look in the 25x/9B
eyepiece without getting a pair :-(
If they are constructed like my 16x/14B they could have a larger
diameter at the graticule position than the 9mm implied by the field
number.

Field number (f.n.) has nothing to do with what you are trying to
measure.

and go down to the following sentence....

"The eyepiece magnification of the eyepieces in Figure 1 is 10x
(indicated on the housing), and the inscription A/24 indicates the
field number is 24, which refers to the diameter (in millimeters)
of the fixed diaphragm in the eyepiece."

After heaving read this could you please explain why field number
has nothing to with what the originator of this thread wants to
measure.
