Leitz - DIC: why 1,25x nosepiece? And: Dialux or Orthoplan?

I'm in the process of combining several Orthoplans into one. To make the
right choices I need some information that I can't find elsewhere.
So I'll post them here. If anyone knows a better way, or a Leitz book where
I can find the answers, or another (Leitz) forum or site please let me know.
I have (the 'new') Smith T DIC set for Orthoplan: the condenser, the
(160mm!) objectives 25x 40x and 100x, the 1,25 nosepiece and the slider.
I also have a Dialux 20 (more modern than the Orthoplan) with DIC condenser,
slider and 16x and 25x objectives (exactly the same ICT objective series as
the above for the Orthoplan).
Question about the nosepiece: I have a 1x nosepiece, too. I prefer (just as
with television) a smaller and sharper image instead of a larger and blurred
one. Can I use the 1x nosepiece instead of the 1,25x? What is the use of a
1,25x nosepiece anyway?
The ultimate result would be to have the complete set (16, 25, 40, 100x) on
the same microscope.
Will the Dialux (160mm) give a better image than the Orthoplan (170mm)?
Should I try to move the prisms from the Orthoplan condenser into the Dialux
condenser and install the whole set on the Dialux? Or is that too dangerous?
If I should try it, should the prisms have exactly the same position in the
Dialux condenser as they had in the Orthoplan condenser or can I correct
slight changes by adjusting the position of the objectives?
Last one: what is the difference in image quality between the Leitz Smith-T
DIC (prisms in the objectives) and the Leitz Nomarski DIC (prism in a
separate slider in the nosepiece)?
