Leica, who now owns Wild, still had original replacement racks and pinions available for the M5 a few years back. Try contacting them through their website. http://www.leica.com

IIRC, the rack for the old yellow/tan colored M5 was made too tall, and had to be hand fitted for a backlash free fit.
