I recently bought a polarizing condenser for my Orthoplan, but the
polarizing filter won't rotate. I applied some xylol into the gap where it
should rotate but the only effect was that the paint of the markings
disappeared :-(
I loosened the lock screw of the filter, and also a very tiny screw on the
side of the filter, I removed a sort of prisma-like filter from the bottom
of the condenser, but it won't rotate.
My plans are to (try to) remove the (foil) polarizing filter and then soak
the whole thing for a night in xylol or something (isopropyl alcohol?).
Or has anyone a better idea?
Theo
