Microscope Covers - What Material?

I lost my bookmarks file that included a web site of good information
on making your own covers for microscopes. I think the author
recommended polyester. Does anyone here recall where this page is, or
have an informed opinion as to what materials would be best for DIY
covers?

The merchants who offer covers seem to differ on what is good, and,
anyway, their stuff is too pricey. Besides, one of my scopes has
accessories that add too much height for regular covers (reflected DIC
& photo adapters), and my inverted scope is too wide for most covers.
I already have several sewing machines, modest skills, and a wife who
can really sew.

I've been using LDPE bags, but don't like the idea of what stuff they
might be outgassing. Some of my scopes stay covered for long periods.
