With an epi-illumination setup there is only the beam splitter (preferably a polarizing cube beam splitter so I don't waste half the energy). There shouldn't be any direct reflection apart from a minute amount of scattering. Otherwise epi-illumination wouldn't work at all AFAICS.
Firing a laser down a binoc is considered rude.
True true, I was just hoping for a really cheap hack (don't need a lot of resolution, nor a very powerful laser).
I would survey the used companies, not just e-bay and to save some
money not just Edmunds. They are both cool but e-bay is to amateur
and Edmunds is way to pricey for this application.
Amateur is me ;) Capovani does seem to have some stackable tube assembly pieces. Thanks for the advice.
